William Forsythe Constructing deconstructively

Until the end of the year the spotlight at the Festival d’Automne in Paris is on
William Forsythe, while The Forsythe Company presented one of his creations – or
rather re-creations – at this year’s Dance Biennial in Lyon, following its première in
Dresden. Forsythe is 65years old and next September will be handing the artistic
directorship of his company over to Jacopo Godani, though remaining its principal
choreographer. Nevertheless, Forsythe is still riding high. A new creation has been
announced for the first ballet season (2015/2016) put together by Benjamin
Millepied at the Paris Opéra while another Forsythe programme was presented at
the Opéra at the beginning of this season
